As the new season approaches, a trail of bad news and occurrences seems to follow the Los Angeles Lakers. Whether it’s poor performances in pre-season games or issues both on and off the court. Russell Westbrook is a common name in all of the instances. Recently, news surfaced that had fans in disbelief as LeBron James’ Lakers suffered a potential setback due to Westbrook’s injury.
Earlier, supporters were dissatisfied and losing faith as the Lakers lost their fourth pre-season game. Some of the key shortcomings from the previous season can be found in this season as well. Westbrook is one person who is frequently singled out by the media for his poor performances and seemingly lack of connection with his teammates.

Fans are shocked to hear about the injury to Russell Westbrook
Shams Charania, who is a senior lead NBA Insider for The Athletic and Stadium posted a tweet that disappointed the fans. The tweet says, “Lakers’ Russell Westbrook has a left hamstring injury and won’t return to game tonight vs. Kings.” Considering the Lakers’ present circumstances, this was the last thing supporters wanted to hear. “Lakers season already over,” one fan stated.

The supporters are clearly concerned about the team and Westbrook. One good news is that the injury does not appear to be that critical. Westbrook appeared for just five minutes in the last pre-season game. Fans will hope the Lakers can challenge for the title next season. A successful campaign for the purple and gold will undoubtedly rely on the form and fitness of its stars like LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and Russell Westbrook.
