LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers’ 2022-23 season at this point isn’t expected to yield any results. However, the teams in the league are expected to have a few trades, including the LA side. Their woes throughout the season make them the perfect candidate for a few trade deals. Incidentally, rumors started to circulate a few weeks ago about the Lakers targeting one of their former stars. But recent statements have shaken up the possibilities of that becoming a reality.

Kyle Kuzma’s Lakers return is shaky despite LeBron James and co. wanting him
The Los Angeles Lakers are looking for solutions to strengthen their squad. Naturally, their sights are set on some of the players who might be available soon. Kyle Kuzma is such a player, who was traded to the Washington Wizards by the Lakers themselves in 2021.
Since then a lot has changed and Kuzma is a primary target for the LA side. However, his recent interview doesn’t really suggest that he wants to part ways with the Wizards. On being asked if his teammates Bradley Beal and Kristaps Porzingis would affect his decision of free agency, he had a calm reply.

According to reports, the Washington Star could become a free agent at the end of the season. This would mean that the Wizards would be better off trading him at this point.
It has all become a bit confusing for many to process, but his words could also be a sign of his wishes to play for the Wizards rather than the Lakers. A decision that he has ample reason to support.

Although Kuzma wasn’t disappointed with the trade as he had respect for the Wizards, he would be wary of going to a team that didn’t believe in him in the past.
