Donovan Mitchell rumors

It is understandable that Mitchell is now considering a bigger market to boost his career. Although he has been sensational this season, his performances have gone under the radar.

This is clearly visible in the NBA All-Star voting list, as Donovan has definitely performed better than a 7th place finish.

NBA Insider Tim MacMahon said, “I think that it’s a little bit different situation in Salt Lake City with Donovan Mitchell just because there is, I’m gonna say, at least speculation around the league that market size might matter to him.

By the look of things, teams like New York Knicks and Miami Heat can land Donovan. Considering their huge following, he wouldn’t mind a move away from Utah.

Donovan Mitchell signed a contract extension worth $163 million in 2020 with Utah Jazz. The amount could go up to $195 million if Mitchell meets the All-NBA criteria during the 2020-21 season.

Although Mitchell is tied to the Utah Jazz on a long-term deal we could see him leave. Jazz co-owner and NBA legend Dwyane Wade had talked about his concerns regarding the young star.

ESPN’s Brian Windhorst mentioned, “I do think that Dwyane Wade, who governor Ryan Smith brought in to be a co-owner but also be an advisor, is seriously concerned about Donovan Mitchell’s desire to stay there long-term.”

Mitchell’s frustration with the team is pretty evident. There was a feud between Rudy Gobert and Mitchell during the beginning of the pandemic, which turned ugly. Keeping these things in mind, seeing Donovan in a move away from Utah is not far away.

How has he been this season?

Donovan Mitchell was the 13th overall pick in round 1 of the 2017 draft. He has established himself as one of the brightest prospects in these years.
