“League Gets Weirder and Weirder”: Reigning MVP and “Peanut Butter” Nikola Jokic Gets Hilarious Praise From Teammate Leaving NBA World in Splits

The Denver Nuggets and peanut butter and jelly are a combo not many would have likely put together. However, the sweet combination has been associated with a relationship within the team. Bromances in the league are inevitable. Some have a bond with players from different teams too. Some players gel with their teammates and create a lifelong bond. Nikola Jokic can boast of such a bond.

Jamal Murray and Nikola Jokic are an inseparable duo. Many believe that they are the reason for the Nuggets’ renaissance so far this season. The pair have talked about their chemistry on many occasions.

During a recent press interaction, Murray and Jokic addressed the recent comments about the duo themselves.

Murray was asked his thoughts on their relationship being labeled as “peanut butter and jelly”. Jokic was seeing busy near his locker. Their exchange was hilarious. Murray said that Jokic was the “peanut butter” in their relationship. The reason he cracked everybody up, including the reporter, was that he added Jokic was “thick”. Murray added that he was the “smear on top” of the peanut butter that was the reigning MVP.

Fans expressed their curiosity over the choice of words to describe the players. One fan tweeted that the “league gets weirder and weirder”.

It was Michael Malone, the head coach for the Nuggets who referred to the pair as the classic combo first.

The Denver Nuggets have a 7-3 record so far this season. They recently won against the San Antonio Spurs with a 115-109 scoreline.

Earlier this week, Nikola Jokic made NBA history with the 79th triple-double of his career. He passed up on the legendary Wilt Chamberlain. Jokic said it was “nice” to leave a legacy after breaking the record.

Jamal Murray is back this season after missing out the whole of last season due to a torn ACL injury. His recovery and rehabilitation have shown a major improvement in each game he has played till now.
