Scottie Pippen’s son Scotty Pippen Jr. has signed a two-way contract with the Los Angeles Lakers. He will suit up in purple and gold colours next season. Pippen Jr. didn’t get his name called in the draft but now has an opportunity to prove his doubters wrong. He does now have the opportunity now to play with LeBron James.

The Lakers have also acquired Max Christie through the draft. They had acquired the No. 35 overall pick from the Orlando Magic. The Lakers have sent cash considerations and a 2028 second-round pick back to the Magic.

Scottie Pippen’s son Scotty Pippen Jr. – An analysis

Pippen was a four-star prospect in his senior year. He chose Vanderbilt over scholarship offers from Washington State, San Francisco, UC Davis, and UC Santa Barbara. He averaged 20.4 points, 4.5 assists, 3.6 rebounds, and 1.9 steals per game.

Pippen led Vanderbilt to a 19-17 record this season. It earned him a spot on the All-SEC First Team. His scoring came 14th overall in the NCAA Division I and first in the SEC. Pippen started his college career as a 6-foot-1 walk-on at NAIA Central Arkansas.

Scottie Pippen, his father, grew up to a height of 6’8″, which allowed him to develop into one of the best players in the country. In his senior year, he averaged 23.6 points, 10.0 rebounds, 4.3 assists, and 3.1 steals per game. It led him to get selected as the fifth overall pick in the 1987 NBA Draft.
