The Lakers couldn’t do the impossible as they lost on their playoff chances. The trio of Anthony Davis, LeBron James and Russell Westbrook couldn’t make their mark as they predicted. Now, Twitter is digging into James’ comments at the start of the season. While James was hoping Westbrook’s role would help, his comments are going against him.
Fans were left in shock when the Lakers traded for Westbrook. However, James was always on board with the deal. But the King’s intuition didn’t work out. Brodie had a poor start, and the Lakers fell apart. In addition, the trio wasn’t much in action together, playing just 21 games together.

Now, fans are going at the King for his comments before the season started.
LeBron James predicted the downfall?
There were many complaints about the purple and gold at the start of the season. But James was never in doubt. The Akron Hammer urged fans to keep the same energy when the seasons. Moreover, when it came to his partnership with Russ, he tried mocking the fans. While it was good to see the King hold confidence in his team, it seems his comments are now backfiring.

It is evident the partnership did not work out. The Lakers have won just 31 games and are out of the playoff picture as well. But not much blame should go on Russ. While he did start slow, injuries played a big part in the Lakers’ downfall. With Anthony Davis and LeBron James picking up injuries through the season, Westbrook was the most regular player for the purple and gold.

Over the last 10 games, he has averaged 22 points, 7 rebounds, and 7 assists while shooting 52% from the field. Even against the Suns, Russ led the charge with 28 points. With the amount of scrutiny around him, Russ definitely made up for his failures early in the season. With Westbrook impressing towards the end of the season, do you think he will be a part of the roster next season? Let us know in the comments below.
