The Los Angeles Lakers find themselves in a tricky situation with a 25-30 record this season. LeBron James and co. have lacked the firepower to win consistently so far during the first half of the season. Despite the addition of Rui Hachimura and the return of Anthony Davis, the Lakers still have something missing from their roster. After missing out on Kyrie Irving‘s trade recently, fans believed that the Lakers would try to pull off something big before the trade deadline. Recently, a shocking deadline move from LeBron James’ Lakers could be a massive boost for NBA MVP Nikola Jokic. However, the Lakers fans have been left disgusted by the trade deal.

As per reports, the Lakers star Thomas Bryant had been sent to the Denver Nuggets recently in a deal that has left the whole NBA world in shock. Bryant had averaged 12 points with 6.8 rebounds in 21 minutes this season. He has been promising support to LeBron James this season. However, the Lakers have decided to pull off a last-minute deal and send him away.

As per ESPN’S Adrian Wojnarowski’s recent tweet, “The Lakers are trading Thomas Bryant to the Nuggets for Davon Reed and three second-round picks, sources tell ESPN.” In exchange for Bryant, the Lakers will receive 27-year-old shooting guard Davon Reed along with three second-round picks in 2015, 2026, and 2029. In 35 games this season, Reed has averaged 2.3 points, 1.6 rebounds, and 0.5 assists per game.

Elsewhere, Bryant’s offensive abilities could be an enormous boost to Nikola Jokic’s Nuggets, who are currently on top of the Western Conference with a 38-17 record. The 25-year-old has shown some good chemistry with LeBron. Hopefully, he’ll be able to do the same for Jokic.

 Thus, in comparison to Bryant’s number, fans are not sure if the Lakers front office made the right call despite three additional second-round picks. One of the frustrated fans wrote, “What a massive L. What are the Lakers doing?”
