Lebron James and Jayson Tatum React as Ja Morant and Grizzlies Take Down Timberwolves in Game 5

The Memphis Grizzlies took a major step in advancing to the next round of the playoffs. In a crucial game 5, Ja Morant hit the game-winner with a second left on the clock to give the Grizzlies a 3-2 series lead over the Minnesota Timberwolves. He was the star of the victory and NBA superstars LeBron James and Jayson Tatum applauded him for his efforts.
The Grizzlies came into this game with the series all tied up at 2 apiece. The last two games of this series have been very close, and both teams weren’t ready to give up anything easy. But old habits die hard. And the Timberwolves blew another lead in the fourth quarter. They were up by 13, with a little over nine minutes to play in the fourth quarter. And this game looked in the bag as well. However, Ja had other ideas. He exploded for 18 points in the fourth quarter and he hit the game-winner for the Grizzlies. Even the great LeBron James was impressed with how Morant rallied the Grizzlies and he tweeted about him.

Jayson Tatum is in awe of Ja Morant and his spectacular dunk
It was the end of the third quarter, and the Grizzlies were down by 13. They were down badly and needed a jumpstart to ignite their rally. And they turned to their leader, Ja Morant. With the shot clock running down, Morant drove inside the lane and beat two defenders. And then he took one step inside the free-throw line and took off.

He jumped on Malik Beasley and threw down a vicious slam over the Timberwolves defender. The crowd went nuts, and the arena was shaking. This was the turning factor in the game as the Grizzlies changed their level of tempo and increased their intensity. Even Jayson Tatum was amazed by the dunk and he tweeted “Damn” with a clip of the dunk.

Morant led the way with 30 points, 13 rebounds, and 9 assists. He was well supported by Desmond Bane and Brandon Clarke, who finished with 25 and 21. For the Timberwolves, Karl Anthony Towns had 28 points and 12 rebounds. Russell continued to struggle as he just had 12 points. The Timberwolves will face a must-win situation in game 6 and they will need all their stars to step up.
