Nike certainly has some of the best global athletes signed under their brand. And these aren’t just players from the NBA but from various other sports as well. Now it looks like Nike’s NBA family just got a bit bigger as Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant joined the gang after signing a deal with Nike for a signature shoe. The NBA world along with Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James sent a shout-out to welcome him to the group.

LeBron James has been with Nike since the start of his career. He even turned down a huge deal of $10 million offered by Reebok when he was young, but his wise decision to not take a deal from Reebok at that time undoubtedly turned out to be one of his wisest decisions.

Even though fans were happy to see Morant get his signature shoe, some called out Nike for their lack of effort in the shoe’s design.

Nike cutting losses and moving on

Many fans commented that Nike was quick to sign Ja Morant after parting ways with Brooklyn Nets star Kyrie Irving. Irving surely left a big hole in the company and they had to come up with a way to make up for that.
