Given his popularity and fan following on social media, James can take issues to millions of people around the world within minutes. However, this leaves him open to criticism from fans when they don’t align with his views. That was exactly the case when King James tried to support a major brand’s petition against a trademark.

LeBron James and “Taco Tuesday”

LeBron James is known to show the fans via social media the quality moments he has with his family. Fans love the four-time NBA MVP’s relaxed and funny personality around his children and wife. If you have been following him closely on any of the social media platforms, you would’ve come across James yelling “Taco Tuesday” at the top of his lungs while dining with his family a few years ago. Apparently, James was a huge fan of the custom of eating tacos on Tuesdays and he continued the tradition for a while.

Then it was reported that LeBron was trying to trademark the words “Taco Tuesday”. Notably, James’ application to trademark “Taco Tuesday” was reportedly denied in 2019. However, it was later revealed that Taco John’s has owned the trademark for the words since 1982 in New Jersey and in 49 other states since 1989.

In May, Taco Bell announced that it has filed a petition against Taco John’s trademark. To aid in the fight against the trademark, the $3 billion brand started an ad campaign, and it looks like James is all in for it.
