LeBron James could not watch the documentary

Untold: Operation Flagrant Foul is the eighth installment of the nine-part Untold series. The episode is based on the betting scandal which is more than a decade old involving former referee Tim Donaghy.

In 2007, an FBI investigation took place in the league due to the possibility of illegal betting scenarios. Donaghy was detained after his involvement was discovered. The NBA referee pleaded guilty to betting on the games he officiated. This created a huge ruckus in the league. The court sentenced Donaghy to 15 months in the prison and supervised release.

The episode was released on August 30, 2022. Given that King James has been an NBA player for almost two decades, the documentary was bound to have some effect on him. The 18-time NBA All-Star could only manage to watch 20 mins of the episode before he forced himself to stop. James stated he might be able to watch the episode only after his retirement because he did not want the information in the documentary clouding his mind during games.
