LeBron James was a sensational player out of high school even before he made it to the NBA. Despite having no college basketball experience, the Cleveland Cavaliers selected James as the first overall pick in the 2003 NBA Drafts. He was an immediate success. But LeBron lacked a strong team to win a championship. So, the 18-time All-Star made a tough decision to leave his home team in 2010 and joined the Miami Heat. Fortunately, the Heat had the team LeBron needed to win it all. Subsequently, King James bagged two back-to-back championships in 2012 and 2013 alongside Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh. However recently, the Miami Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra seemingly undermined the Miami legend, in an attempt to praise the All-Star center Bam Adebayo, leaving NBA fans shocked and confused.

Spoelstra expressed his admiration for Adebayo following Miami’s 113-112 victory against the Phoenix Suns on Monday, November 13. In fact, he proceeded to list out the qualities that separated Adebayo from most players.

The two-time NBA championship-winning coach also commended Bam Adebayo for his ability to play different roles for Miami. However, while praising the veteran Heat star’s versatility, he made a remark that didn’t do well with a lot of basketball fans.

Spoelstra makes LeBron James fans mad with his recent comments

The Miami Heat coach applauded the 2020 All-Star for his talents to read an opponent’s defense, provide crucial team strategy and play according to the situation. Erik Spoelstra said, “I’ve never coached really somebody where there’s been so many different responsibilities.”

The recent comments from the Miami Heat coach have left the fans in a state of utter shock and confusion. Notably, Spoelstra has been associated with Heat since 1997. He is the head coach of the franchise since 2008. The 52-year-old coached the Heat team when they had the superstar trio of LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosch. The trio helped Miami win two championships.

However, Spoelstra seems to believe that Adebayo deals with more responsibilities than LeBron James had to during his stint at Miami. Therefore, the fans seemed a little disappointed by the veteran coach leaving out James’ contribution to the Miami Heat.
