NBA superstar LeBron James gave Cleveland its first-ever NBA championship the fans had been longing for. However, they could have won more. The Cleveland Cavaliers made 4 straight NBA finals, all against the same team. And it was the Golden State Warriors. This developed a huge rivalry between both teams. And they have had some intense battles in the finals. The 2018 finals was the last time the Warriors and Cavs played against each other. And there was a huge controversy in the dying moments of game-1.

With just 3 seconds left on the clock and the score tied at 107, George Hill had a free throw to take the lead for the Cavs. But unfortunately, he missed the free throw. However, JR Smith grabbed the offensive rebound close to the basket. Shockingly, Smith dribbled the basketball out of the 3-point territory much to the dismay of LeBron James and Cavs fans.

James was seen yelling at Smith trying to communicate the situation. However, it was too late as the buzzer sounded. Then the Warriors took care of business in the overtime and won the game 124-114. So this blunder by JR Smith in the finals could obviously anger anyone and LeBron James was no different.

The wrath of LeBron James

After the game-1 loss, LeBron James had to do the post-game interviews. And unsurprisingly, he wasn’t in the mood for bad questions. Apparently, reporter Mark Schwartz from ESPN did get the memo. He asked the former MVP about his version of the JR Smith incident. And James was not impressed. James asked, “What do you mean ‘What’s my version’?” So the reporter asked whether JR thought the game was tied or whether the Cavs were winning. James replied, “How do I know that?”

Even after James said that he doesn’t what JR Smith was thinking, the reporter persistently asked the same question with different words. And LeBron had enough so he just stood up and left the press conference. However, that is not the end of the story here. The back and forth between the superstar and the reporter went viral and garnered over 2 million views.

Unfortunately for the reporter, it didn’t stop there. After this, fans started to hate the reporter. And there were compilations of the reporter asking poor questions that were made and uploaded to YouTube.

The game-1 win set the tone for the Warriors as they swept the Cavaliers to win their second straight title.
