The NFL was greeted with a shock as news emerged that Pittsburgh Steelers QuarterBack Dwayne Haskins passed away tragically after being hit by a truck. The 2019 first-round draft pick was at the training camp in Florida when the incident happened. And tributes poured in from everywhere, including from LeBron James.
Haskins died early Saturday morning as a dump truck struck him while walking on the highway. Florida Highway Patrol said that he was walking on a highway for unknown reasons and had been attempting to cross before being hit. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Steelers were shocked to learn about the death of their quarterback and expressed support to his family.
LeBron James posts an emotional message to Dwayne Haskins who was killed in a tragic accident
LeBron posted a story about Haskins death, and he shared a message. He said, “Rest in paradise young Simba” and he shared a photo of Haskins. He was a former quarterback who played for Ohio State, LeBron’s hometown.
Haskins was a standout player at Ohio State University, and he was selected by Washington as the 15th overall pick in the 2019 NFL draft. After a couple of seasons, he was released by the Commanders and was able to secure a move to Pittsburg in 2021. He was expected to feature at some point in the upcoming season.

Steelers coach Mike Tomlin issued a statement, “I am devastated and at a loss for words with the unfortunate passing of Dwayne Haskins. He quickly became part of our Steelers family upon his arrival in Pittsburgh and was one of our hardest workers, both on the field and in our community.”

“Dwayne was a great teammate, but even more so a tremendous friend to so many. I am truly heartbroken. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife, Kalabrya, and his entire family during this difficult time.”
