LeBron James once changed his profile picture on Instagram to that of the late great Kobe Bryant to honor the legend after his death. LeBron once again updated his profile picture recently, this time to honor rapper Takeoff. Kirshnik Khari Ball, a.k.a Takeoff, was killed in a shootout at a bowling alley in Houston on November 1st. The incident stunned the world, with celebrities and individuals coming forward to pay their respects to the Migos artist.

At roughly 2:30 in the morning, the tragic incident unfolded outside 810 Billiards & Bowling Houston. A video of the incident was posted by TMZ.com. Takeoff and Quavo can be seen being surrounded by a crowd in the footage. Takeoff was reportedly shot and later pronounced dead at the scene by authorities.

The NBA and hip-hop industry share an unspoken bond. And LeBron can be seen appreciating young rapper and their music on several occasions. Back in 2020, King James posted a video of him dancing to the sound ‘Taco Tuesday’ by Migos.

The Los Angeles Lakers paid the tribute to Takeoff by playing his music through the warmup session before their game against the New Orleans Pelicans. However, LeBron James wanted to pay his respect further, so he changed his profile picture on Instagram. The gesture demonstrates LeBron’s love for the hip-hop industry. James added a photo of Takeoff in a black suit, tie, and iconic black glasses.
