Smart investing has been key in helping LeBron James extend his legacy. And as a star athlete, he has always tried to maintain his footing in the business side of the sports world. So, after his investment in one of the most popular football teams, Liverpool FC, the NBA superstar has now also decided to take his money to a sports technology and gaming company called StatusPro.

LeBron James adds another company to his list of investments
Thanks to Bron’s membership of the Fenway Investment group, Liverpool isn’t the only team that he has invested in. The 36-YO has his stakes in the Boston Red Sox, a Major League baseball team, too. And not to forget how his keen interest in at-home fitness led to him investing in a start-up called Tonal as well.

As he continues to find the best places to put his money, StatusPro is his new landing spot. By collecting player data and extended reality, StatusPro focuses on creating the most suitable training and fan engagement products. An NFL Star, Andrew Hawkins, who has earlier worked with the Lakers superstar, along with Maverick Carter through SpringHill Entertainment, founded the company in 2020.
Notably, this XR industry is expected to be worth $42 billion in just six years. Just this prediction alone makes King James’ latest bet an impressive one.

Bron’s faith in this company probably comes from the fact that his business partners Maverick Carter and Paul Watcher have also decided to invest in StatusPro. However, they’re not the only ones who see potential in this company.

From Naomi Osaka, KB Partners, Greycroft, Verizon Ventures, to rapper Drake, many other notable names are a part of it. This only solidifies our faith in this sports tech company. In recent years, James has shown that he is always ready to make informed and diverse investments.
As of now, the products offerings from his latest investment are not out and further details about the project are yet to be of public knowledge. But it seems like the L-Train is getting ready to be even richer than he already is.
