Despite adding so many superstars, who have proved their worth consistently, to their roster. The Lakers are still receiving plenty of skepticism about their potential. However, this is a discussion that they just can’t escape leading up to the 2021-22 season, and even during it. So, this is where the purple and gold took complete advantage of the offseason. In this short span of time, before striking the deal, they were both part of meetings in which they had to come to a consensus to adjust to each other’s games. According to the Athletic, someone who was part of these meetings said, “Sacrifice”.

“Just sacrifice. Sacrificing on both ends. They all have to sacrifice. It don’t matter who you are. They’ve got to sacrifice. They know that. They talked about it. I think just out of respect for one another, ‘Hey man, this is the only way this is going to work — if we can do it.’ And so they had that understanding.”
