The Los Angeles Lakers might have bigger problems to cater to than to just keep getting consistent wins from now on. LeBron James will not be playing for what could be 10 days or much more because of health issues. This is worrisome news to most fans as well, who have already seen what happens to their beloved team without Bron’s presence. Thankfully, there is Anthony Davis who has all the updates on James, so here’s what we know.

What happened to LeBron James?

After playing against the Detroit Pistons in immense pain, not showing up for the matchup against the Kings wasn’t a surprise. Almost everyone assumed that Bron was still cooperating from his abdominal injury. However, that’s far from the truth. Unfortunately, the Lakers’ superstar has tested positive for COVID-19. This means that he now has to enter the health and safety protocols that the NBA has regulated.

He isn’t the first major star who has had to battle with this unfortunate virus that is causing chaos in the world. In fact, Joel Embiid’s recent comments about feeling like he won’t be able to make it and with the new variant, it’s gotten even scarier than it already is. But LBJ’s teammate Anthony Davis has some good updates for all of us to hold on to.

“He said he’s good,” Davis revealed. “He said he’s asymptomatic, which is a good sign, but we want to make sure that he gets back. Health is what’s most important. It’s bigger than basketball. He has a family and we want to make sure that he’s good no matter what.”

The priority is to get the Lakers’ superstar back to full health

The league had implemented regular testing once again after NBA players mingled with families and friends during the Thanksgiving week. So, despite the L-train being asymptomatic, the league was able to detect it. With the virus affecting everyone differently, there is no telling when will he return to play. However, AD and the entire organization just want him to get well, the rest comes later.

“His health is what’s most important, especially for our organization. He’s part of our family and we want to make sure he’s good. For his sake, for his family’s sake,” Davis added.

In fact, Davis consoled that Bron is still watching games. And their win against the Kings and all the other victories will only help him get back on his feet faster. This means the Los Angeles Lakers have no option but to go on a winning streak. So, that by the time LeBron does get back, he can play with ease and not too much pressure to pick up their slack.
