This abrupt development concerning Westbrook, who has played 50 of the last 53 games this season, has left fans in a major frenzy amid exciting trade rumors surrounding the Lakers. Incidentally, before the Irving news came to light, the Lakers were involved in conversations with the Utah Jazz for a potential trade for the 2017 MVP. According to sources, the Lakers were demanding a bunch of picks and role players from the Jazz in exchange for Westbrook along side some ancillary fillers. However, Rob Pelinka and co reportedly weren’t all in on the Jazz, as they kept their options open with all teams to find the best deal possible. There were rumors of the Hornets also coming in on the sweepstakes.
