When it comes to the most competitive players in the history of the NBA, Michael Jordan arguably tops that list. He is known to be one of the most competitive players whether it is on the court or outside of it. Apart from having a splendid career as a basketball player, Jordan is also known to play excellent golf.

Over the years, Jordan has played golf with several famous personalities. Some of the prominent names include fellow NBA player Charles Barkley, NFL legend Tom Brady, golf legend Tiger Woods, and the former president of the United States, Bill Clinton. Although His Airness is now way past his gambling phase, Jordan was known to place stakes with his competitors. One would think that even Jordan with his level of competitiveness would choose to play a friendly match with the 42nd president of America. But apparently, Jordan does not believe in making any exceptions.

Michael Jordan demanded this of Bill Clinton

On The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, the host talked about Jordan’s golf game with former president Bill Clinton. Jordan was asked who won the game and if the former president was competitive. To which he replied that they were in fact on the same team. Jordan further added that he had offered Clinton a bet, and the stakes was ‘taxes’.

“Actually we’re on the same team. But, at first I said well.. let’s play for taxes.” Jordan told Jay Leno. Subsequently, the whole room burst out in laughter at Jordan’s hilarious joke.

The host later asked him if he would have let the President win by not giving the game his best. But Jordan replied that he would certainly not do that. Afterwards, the six-time NBA champion tried to justify his unwillingness to let the country’s leader win. According to him, if he beat the President then he certainly would want to play him again.
