In 2011, Fenway Sports Group became the sole global marketer of his rights, and as part of the deal, he was granted a minority stake in the English Premier League football club Liverpool, which he has claimed his support for. LeBron even went to Paris recently to support Liverpool in the UCL final last month. LeBron got two percent of Liverpool for £4.7 million ($6.5 million) alongside business partner Maverick Carter.

According to a recent report, LeBron’s investment in Liverpool FC has seen a 670% return. According to the Deloitte Money League, Liverpool FC is currently worth $4.1 billion. Liverpool’s recent uptick in performances has resulted in the team’s value soaring to new heights.

When Apple acquired Beats Electronics in 2014, LeBron raked in $30 million on his investment. He had originally struck a deal to get a small stake in the company at its inception in exchange for promoting its headphones. In 2012, James, Carter, and Paul Wachter made an investment of less than $1 million in the Pasadena-based fast-casual chain Blaze Pizza; their investment had grown to $25 million by 2017.

James has often talked about how it is his dream to own an NBA Franchise one day. With him officially becoming a billionaire, it seems like that day is not far away. Currently, Michael Jordan is the only basketball player to completely own a franchise; he owns the Charlotte Hornets.
