Anthony Davis and the Los Angeles Lakers have been one of the biggest disappointments this season so far. The Lakers were early favorites at the start of the season, but now they are struggling to stay in the play-in spots. They are currently in the ninth spot and are five games below the .500 mark.

The Lakers’ season has been hampered by injuries to their star players Anthony Davis and LeBron James. Especially AD who has already missed 20 games this year. He had missed half the season the last year due to another injury.
Davis also had a very poor start to the year, and he was very ineffective. But he has picked it up after coming back from injury, especially on the defensive side of things. But still, the Lakers are struggling and they need to figure out a way to win.

Stephen A. Smith, the co-host of First Take, has a crazy take about Anthony Davis. Keep that in mind, that Smith is talking about the future of the Lakers and not this season.
AD out of Lake Nation?
Smith talks about the Lakers beyond this season. He says “I didn’t want to say this, because I have mad love and respect for Anthony Davis. I still think this brother is a star, he’s averaging 23 and 9 and shooting better than 50% from the field… Ladies and gentlemen, we gonna talk about the Lakers beyond this season. They have to trade Anthony Davis.”
“Here’s why: his value is his value as a player, but durability is a question mark at age 28. As you get older, those durability questions are going to be even more prevalent. So when you think about his stock being as high as it is going to be, isn’t that right now?”
Lakers fans agree with Stephen A. Smith
Lakers fans heard what Smith said, and they agreed with him. They said it was time that they traded their star forward. Here are some of the best reactions.
#Google just highlighted @stephenasmith saying #lakers need 2 trade #anthonydavis and he may be right. But there is only 1 team he can go 2 without becoming Sam bowie or Greg Oden, the #Bulls. Trade him for @DeMar_DeRozan Colby white and vucevic

Is Anthony Davis a post player? If yes why doesn’t he post up? There were a lot of mouses in the house last night vs Golden State. If the Lakers wanted a stretch 5 should have trade AD for Porzingis….@ESPNNBA

Lakers needa trade Anthony Davis.— OG MIYAGI (@ItzBlizz) February 13, 2022
Anthony Davis is no doubt one of the top 5 players in the league when healthy, but that has been a question that has lasted throughout his career. Also, the Lakers gave up a lot of talent and draft picks to acquire AD, so they will also have to get a lot back for him.
With that being said, LeBron James is turning 37, and the Lakers are a leader for the future. Anthony Davis can be that guy. He has showcased his talent time and time again for them. He just needs a bit of luck on his side with Injuries and the Lakers will be back to being competitive again.
