On the eve of his 38th birthday, LeBron James stamped one of his most dominating nights this season. The King put on a show scoring 47 points in a win against the Atlanta Hawks. Despite the miles on his legs, the 18-time All-Star remains arguably one of the best players in the league. After signing an extension with the Los Angeles Lakers in the offseason, James made his first remarks sparking concerns about him wanting out. Notably, he expressed his unwillingness to play without competing for the title. His incredible longevity combined with the heavy hunger to win has him linked to his former home, the Miami Heat.

In his first 7 NBA seasons, James was the lone star on the Cleveland Cavaliers. However, his story was attached to the emotion of him playing for his hometown. That would all change in 2010 with the infamous ‘The Decision’. On national television, the King announced his departure to South Beach. While he became the villain of the league, it was there that LeBron James would win his first two NBA championships. Moreover, it was the birthplace of one of the most iconic and entertaining duos, Dwyane Wade and James.

With the Los Angeles Lakers losing Anthony Davis indefinitely, it seems James has realized his title chances with LA slip away. Likewise, his recent ‘winner’ comments have led to rumors linking him with South Beach once again. Notably, a reporter proposed a ludicrous deal to bring the King back to Vice City.

Is LeBron James going back to Miami?

Essentially demanding the right pieces around, LeBron James spoke about wanting more after losing to his former side. Ira Sherman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel picked up a pattern of behavior over the King’s NBA two-decade long NBA stint. Notably, the reporter feels no one does passive-aggressive better than the Los Angeles Lakers forward. Moreover, she also proposed a deal sending Heat’s blockbuster young scoring prodigy Tyler Herro to LA in exchange for James.

However, the deal stands to be ludicrous for multiple reasons. First, Herro isn’t eligible for any trades until the 2023 off-season. Time is something LeBron James doesn’t have the liberty to anymore. Hence, the sense of urgency plays a significant factor. Moreover, the Lakers will most likely not exchange a simple exchange of players without some draft capital.

However, the mighty 17-time champions might be unsatisfied with the 22-year-old Kentucky alumni. Notably, one man who may attract their interest would be the All-Star center, Bam Adebayo. The Miami Heat frontcourt superstar has improved his offense to make it more refined and efficient. In addition, he is arguably one of the best big men in the league. The 25-year-old is averaging a career-high 21.2 points per game while being in the conversation of DPOY. A frontcourt with AD and Adebayo could return the Lakers to their defensive pinnacle.
