The Dallas Mavericks just lost three games in a row, dropping the ball against the Atlanta Hawks in their last matchup. Despite Mavericks star Luka Doncic’s amazing performance, the Hawks were just too much to handle for the Mavs. Recently, Doncic’s teammate, Spence Dinwiddie took shots at Philadelphia 76ers star James Harden while siding with Doncic, and fans on Twitter were quick to slam his opinions online. 

Luka Doncic and James Harden are both highly gifted players on the court. These two have the ability to take on the entire responsibility of offense and can turn a game around at any moment. It is often all about just letting them get hot on the hardwood. 

Mavericks player trashes James Harden

Spencer Dinwiddie was recently asked what separated Doncic from Harden. And he said, “[Luka Doncic] participates on the defensive end…” While that may be true or not, fans certainly did not feel that way as they voiced their opinions on social media.

Many fans were quick to slam both All-Stars on social media, pointing out flaws in their games and siding with their favorite player.

While many tried to differentiate between the two players, some sided with Doncic and others sided with Harden, meanwhile other fans just agreed they both are a liability on defense.

Why Luka Doncic and James Harden focus more on offense

Luka Doncic and James Harden are both offense-oriented players. Due to the lack of offensive production on their teams, these two players often have to take on the offensive load more than other stars in the league. 

James Harden was responsible for more than half of the Rockets’ offense during his time in Houston. There were arguably few players on that roster who helped him on the offensive end, other than spotting up for threes.

Possibly the same goes for Luka Doncic as well. Many fans have made the case that Doncic barely has any help on that roster. If Doncic took the pedal off his offense, there perhaps aren’t many other players on the team who could match his offensive production on the floor.
