The Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic has had a sensational season so far. He has impressed the NBA world with consistent sizeable triple-double scores throughout the season. One of those games included an NBA record too. However, despite all his accolades, the 6’7″ Slovenian star has garnered a reputation for intermittent on-court beefs with either the players or officials. Moreover, he also collects technical fouls pretty regularly for his antics on the court. Recently, Doncic’s on-game altercation with Damian Lillard caught the attention of the fans as they swarmed into NBA Twitter with their reactions.

Luka Doncic received 17 technical fouls in the 2021-22 NBA season that resulted in a one-game suspension. In the current season, he has over six fouls with more than half the season left to be played. However, the altercation with Dame didn’t fetch him a foul, but it ignited a unique conversation among fans.

During the fourth quarter of the Saturday night game between the Mavericks and the Portland Trail Blazers, the Luka Doncic and Dame Dolla had a mild beef. When the Blazers guard Lillard tried to get the ball past the Mavs’ defense, Doncic stepped in to steal the ball. During the attempt, the Slovenian guard deliberately pushed Dame with his elbow. Following the push, the duo ended up in a heated argument until their teammates stepped in to settle the dispute.

Following the incident, the NBA on ESPN shared the video clip of the altercation on Twitter and wrote, “Luka and Dame”. Fans flooded in with hilarious reactions to the video. One user said, “am i the only one who didn’t know that Luka is taller than Dame? lol.” Following are some reactions from NBA Twitter.

However, after the game, Damian Lillard had the last laugh as the Portland Trailblazers sealed off a comfortable victory against the Mavericks. Dame lead the Blazers with an impressive 36 points, five rebounds, and 10 assists supported by Jusuf Nurkic’s 22 points. Though Doncic has had a splendid season so far, he failed to impress in this game as he scored only 15 points. Currently, the Mavericks are the fifth seed of the Western Conference with a (24-20) record and the Blazers are the 11th seed with a (20-22) record.
