With the different controversies, and injuries all the way to the Denver Nuggets lifting their first trophy, the season kept fans entertained throughout. However, for some, this has been the worst year, including the Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant. Morant has been involved in various controversies, resulting in his getting banned.

His most recent act includes flashing a firearm on Instagram Live. For this detrimental conduct, he was banned by the NBA and Adam Silver openly condemned his act. However, the final decision on Morant was kept under wraps till the NBA Finals. While the world awaited what’s next for the 23-year-old star, the recent report on the decision has had an “underwhelming” impact on hoop fans.

Morant was touted as the new face of the league till last year. All that and so much more changed after he started piling up on his controversies. The 2x NBA All-Star was booked earlier this year with an incident involving him flashing a firearm on Instagram Live. Morant was at a strip club when he went Live on Instagram to flash the firearm, which resulted in him getting banned. The young star issued an apology and served a ban before joining his team right before the playoffs. However, this didn’t last much longer, as he was again caught in an act of the same nature.

This time, Morant was riding around with his friends and one of them was broadcasting it live on Instagram. Soon enough, the Grizzlies star pulled out his firearm, flashing it in the car before realizing that his act is being broadcasted. The screenshot and clip quickly spread like wildfire across the internet and soon reached the NBA authorities. Another ban was imposed on him, although the end of this one was held back by the NBA commissioner. Adam Silver had said that he will announce the final decision after the conclusion of this year’s championship.

As reported by ESPN senior NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski, the NBA has decided to impose a 25-game ban on Morant. The ban will start at the beginning of the next season, 2023-24.
