However, NBA legend Michael Jordan once asserted that he is not a Hall of Famer yet. During an interview, he was asked to comment on Curry who had two NBA titles back then. Jordan said, “He’s still a great player. Not a Hall of Famer yet, though. He’s not.”

Interestingly enough, Jordan happens to be Curry’s inspiration. After a grueling NBA finals win against the Boston Celtics, Steph talked about MJ and how he takes inspiration from him.

Curry said, “He set the bar for what work ethic was, and that grind he tried to set the pace with his actions. I’ve always carried that with me as the standard for what I expect from my teammates, I live up to that as well.”

This was evident when Johnson came to the rescue of Jordan after the latter commented on Stephen Curry and his Hall of Fame status. Johnson said, “Everyone relax. We know Steph Curry is a future Hall of Famer…Michael Jordan couldn’t say it because he would get fined by the league.”

Johnson was once fined by the league for commenting on Giannis Antetokounmpo while he was the Lakers’ president. He felt that MJ made such a weird claim about Curry in order not to get fined by the league. Being the chairman of the Charlotte Hornets, MJ would have been fined by the league for talking about another player.
