Magic Johnson’s career was a roller coaster if ever any NBA player’s career was. The Los Angeles Lakers legend has seen his fair share of struggles throughout his life. Johnson, like any other kid dreaming of being a basketball player, came up through intense hard work. While recalling his journey to becoming an NBA legend and the CEO of a multi-million dollar company, Johnson mentioned how his days as a janitor weren’t bland. The five-time NBA Champion manifested his position in life and was caught red-handed by a businessman in the process.

While cleaning offices in his teenage years, Johnson liked to enter the offices of his bosses and act like he is a boss himself. It was his way of dreaming until he was caught red-handed by one of the bosses.

Magic Johnson dreamt about being a millionaire by acting like one in his teenage days

The five-time NBA Champion was just another child with dreams in Michigan until people understood his value. The Lakers legend once appeared on Beyond the Boardroom by Jordan Tisch , talking about his teenage days when he used to clean offices as a janitor. Johnson described cleaning the floors which housed the CEO’s offices.

“So I would bust in[CEO’s office] like I was the CEO, I’m dreaming like I’m the CEO now,” said Johnson. He further added, “And then I would kick my feet up on his desk recline the seat back and I pretended like I had an assistant out front and I would hit the intercom button. Uh, tony, could you bring me today’s paper some coffee, and donuts?”

The Lakers legend further described how he was once caught by one of the bosses. “One time I’m sitting there, dreaming and he walks in on me.” Johnson bursts out laughing while reminiscing the embarrassing situation. Further on he reminds the interviewer that his life has completed a full circle, as he is worth $620 Million now while being the CEO of Magic Johnson Enterprises.

The Lakers no. 33 had to retire prematurely due to his contraction of HIV. But the legend didn’t shy away from making big moves at all. Johnson owns Magic Johnson Enterprises and is a Multi Millionaire. The company is involved in various sectors, it owns Los Angeles Dodgers and LAFC among its few acquirements in sports teams.

The company also owns an eSports organization. Safe to say, Johnson’s company is breaking barriers in the sports world. Additionally, the company made huge strides in business sectors as they own a major part of EquiTrust Life Insurance Company which deals with a lot of financial products.
