The Los Angeles Lakers are like a child in water right now. They have been swiping hands around for solutions and for whatever help they can get. Their season has reflected that they need desperate changes in their roster and their management. Of the team and within it. LeBron James was the only positive that they could get out the season. The 37 year old in his 19th season, proved why the NBA world rates him so highly.

Another positive light has been Malik Monk. However other than that the offseason trades of last season and Anthony Davis have had an utterly disappointing season. Other than that, another reason for the Lakers not doing well has been Frank Vogel. Although he did win them the NBA championships in 2020 but this year it was an opposite story.

There were talks of replacing Frank Vogel long before he was fired. But when he was eventually fired the need to find the replacement as soon as possible became imminent. There were many names that could have lifted the spirits of the Lakers fans after an utterly disappointing season.

Firstly Quin Snyder essentially refused the offer when he was approached by the Lakers. Then Lakers interviewed Mark Jackson but as things stand he does not seem to be much interested in the job. Their main target has always been Doc Rivers.

More bad news for the Lakers?

As it turns out, the Philadelphia 76ers have maintained a strong stance. Their intentions seem clear despite rumors. They hope to keep Doc Rivers next season as well. The 76ers might see some changes in their roster but it seems clear on their part that they have decided to stay with Doc Rivers.

“The Philadelphia 76ers do not plan to meet with Doc Rivers to discuss his future and maintain the franchise is committed to the head coach and will work with him to improve the roster.” Yahoo Sports reports. The fans reacted in kind when the ‘bad’ news for the Lakers broke out.
