Shaquille O’Neal’s mother, Lucille O’Neal, spoke with Dell Curry and Sonya Curry about many aspects of her life. She was only 16 years old when she became pregnant and didn’t know what to do. Her single motherhood brought her to the point of raising all her children alone.

During the interview, she talked about her mother’s and grandmother’s reactions to hearing of her pregnancy. Additionally, she discussed Shaq’s father’s interest in being a father to his child. Former NBA star Shaq is one of the wealthiest players in the sport’s history.

As a result of his skills, he has built an empire in the world of business. His career has taken him to many heights as one of the most dominating players in the NBA. Now that he has six children, he is passing along those lessons that he had learned during his childhood that made him successful today.

In discussing the challenges that she has faced, she mentioned how “Man Child” Shaquille became her greatest challenge as a single mother. According to her: “The main challenge that I faced was how am I gonna care for this young man child? What I am gonna do? We needed some money, he needed food, he needs diapers. We don’t have a place to live.”
