Anthony Davis‘ consistency has once again come under scrutiny as the Los Angeles Lakers continue their playoff run. With his impressive skill set, Davis has displayed the ability to dominate games but he has also demonstrated a tendency to fluctuate on the court. Davis was on fire in Game 1 of the Lakers’ second round of the playoff series against the Golden State Warriors. He scored 35 points and propelled the team to victory. However, in Game 2, he put up a rather terrible show, scoring no more than 11 points on 5-of-16 shooting, resulting in a major defeat. The Warriors led with a score of 127-100. The series is now tied between the teams.

Consequently, AD was given a harsh reality check from fans after a former NBA player called AD out for his inconsistency, dragging even Nikola Jokic, Joel Embiid, and JaVale McGee into his argument.

The Los Angeles Lakers rely heavily upon Anthony Davis, who has the potential to guide his team on both sides of the court. However, his inconsistent plays have become a cause of concern, both for the team and the fans. The 8x All-Star is known for his offensive prowess and is a key component of the team, creating easy baskets, snatching rebounds, and catching alley-oops. His performance can gravely affect the team when he’s not at his best.

Meanwhile, Jay Williams, a former NBA player who played for the Chicago Bulls recently blasted AD due to his inconsistency, who had scored just 11 points during his recent game.

He said, “There are times when I watch AD, I’m like, your ceiling is on the level of Jokić or Embiid, maybe better. But your floor is JaVale McGee.” His comment suggests that while AD has the capacity to play at the same level as elite players like Nikola Joki or Joel Embiid, his floor is similar to JaVale McGee’s.

McGee was not really terrible on the court. He has won titles with the Golden State Warriors and the Los Angeles Lakers. However, the comparison made by Williams accentuates how drastically different Davis’s performance is from what he is capable of. His inconsistency has been a major concern for the Lakers, who heavily rely on Davis to perform well in order to be a title contender. On the other hand, players like Jokic and Embiid have consistently delivered while playing, helping their teams in the playoffs.

NBA World takes down Anthony Davis

After the statement by the former NBA player got out, NBA fans were quick to react to it. Some were offended by the comparison between Anthony Davis and JaVale McGee, a 3x NBA champion.

A fan tweeted, “JaVale doesn’t deserve to catch strays like this. Man is a 3 time champion. Pick on somebody else”

Whereas, others followed suit, with many calling AD a ‘stray’

However, there were some who came to defend AD.
