NBA veteran Charles Barkley entered the league alongside basketball legend Michael Jordan in 1984 . It has been over two decades since he officially retired from the court and the league has evolved significantly from back then. Sir Charles recently took a trip down memory lane and recalled his time in the league. During an exclusive interview, the Phoenix Suns legend opened up about one particular issue that caused him injuries while travelling in commercial flights.
After making his exit from the court, Barkley took up the job as an analyst on Inside the NBA and has become a fan-favorite since then. The 1993 MVP recently sat down for an interview, revealing intriguing details of his life.

Charles Barkley explains why he gets injured on commercial flights
The Hall of Famer recently talked about his first-ever contract in the league and shared that the four-year deal was worth $2 million. This meant that Charles Barkley received no more than $500,000 a year at the time. Furthermore, Jon Wertheim of Sports Illustrated recalled that Chuck had previously revealed that he would fly commercial.

Barkley confirmed it and recalled one particular incident where he ended up with shoulder pain. Apparently, during one such trip, Chuck sat beside an old lady who ended up getting a little too comfortable during the journey.
He said, “Yes. Got some old lady leanin’ on my shoulder back in coach. So, it was killin’ me when I got to the arena. I always tell the trainer, I said, ‘Man, my shoulder’s killing me‘. He says, ‘What did you do?’ I said, ‘I had this old lady sleepin’ on me in coach‘.”

Chuck gives his take on Kevin Durant
As the conversation between Barkley and Wertheim progressed, he brought up his feud with NBA superstar Kevin Durant. In response, Chuck called KD a ‘sensitive’ player. Furthermore, he added, “He’s part of that generation who thinks he can’t be criticized. But he’s a great player. I think he’s a great person. But he thinks he can’t be criticized. He’s never looked in the mirror and said, “Man, was that a fair criticism?”

In response, Durant fired back at Chuck with a tweet that read, “This ain’t gettin tiring chuck? I’ll never respect the words that come out ya mouth fam just deal with it”
