The Dallas Mavericks managed to snap a three-game losing streak as they defeated the Miami Heat in their last game. The Mavericks are steadily standing at the fifth spot in the Western Conference with a 25-22 season record. As the Mavericks defeated the Heat, Luka Doncic and Reggie Bullock were made available for a post-game press conference. However, the interview went a bit sideways when Doncic turned his comments about his teammate Josh Green into something that may have been perceived otherwise.

Luka Doncic notched a double-double against the Heat, scoring 34 points along with 12 rebounds in the 115-90 win. Two players who got a lot of playing time off the bench were Reggie Bullock and Josh Green, both of who scored in double-digits.

While talking to the reporters in the post-game press conference, Doncic was asked to give his views on the 22-year-old shooting guard, Josh Green. Even though Luka meant something else entirely, his pause during his comments changed the entire intention of what he said before.

When asked about Josh Green, Luka said, “I mean it’s great you know he’s just out there. He comes with a lot of energy,” and pauses right after that with a smirk on his face. Doncic then went on to complete his comment.

He said, “Oh s**t my bad, pause. With the energy he brings you know it’s just really good so he just really helps us a lot.”

Now, Doncic may not have intended any NSFW comments regarding his teammate, but his pause surely created an awkward scenario during the interview. However, everyone just laughed it off.

Where does the future lie for the Mavericks franchise?

The Dallas Mavericks had gone on a seven-game winning streak starting a few days before Christmas. That streak was broken by the Boston Celtics and since then, Dallas has not been able to string together consecutive winning games.

Many fans were complaining and slamming billionaire owner Mark Cuban for not surrounding Luka Doncic with more talented players. Though it seems like the Mavs are more focused on developing their young talent instead of trading for another All-Star.

The last time the Mavericks’ front office traded for an All-Star, things arguably did not work out. This may explain why the coaching staff has been giving players like Josh Green plenty of minutes off the bench.

Should the Mavericks trade for another All-Star or develop their younger talent to pair with Doncic? Let us know what you think in the comments section down below.
