Michael Jordan was one of the most unstoppable players in NBA history. On his day, Jordan could take it to the best of defenders. He was an absolute nightmare to defend against, as he would get whatever he wanted. Few players were able to put a stop to Jordan, and not a single player can boast a perfect record against him. However, one former NBA champion wonders how Jordan would fare against him.

Metta World Peace vs Michael Jordan?

Former NBA champion Metta World Peace (FKA Ron Artest) took to Twitter today. He questioned how well Michael Jordan would do against him. He noted that only three players were able to score 40 or more points on him when he was guarding them. However, Jordan is his personal idol and doesn’t know how he would fare. The question was put across as speculative, but also suggesting that he could’ve handled Jordan.

Metta was one of the best defenders during his time in the NBA. He was the Defensive Player of the Year in 2004 and made multiple All-Defensive teams in his career. Furthermore, he was an integral part of the 2010 Los Angeles Lakers team that won the NBA championship. Artest can argue that he would’ve posed a genuine threat to Jordan in a one-off game.

Jordan wouldn’t let someone get the better of him

However, Jordan has shown throughout his career how difficult he can be. Many defensive players like Gary Payton, Dennis Rodman, and 0thers have struggled to guard ‘His Airness’. If someone could put a stop to Jordan for a game, he would use that as motivation to humiliate those same players, the next time they faced off.

Could Metta World Peace hold Jordan to below 30 points? It would certainly have been a challenge. However, he was an excellent defender and has every reason to believe he would stand a chance. But Jordan is one of the most dynamic offensive players, who also relied on motivation to get the best of another player.
