Marcus Jordan, the son of the NBA legend Michael Jordan, has become Larsa Pippen’s forever valentine. What started as a friendship has now blossomed into true love. And their love knows no bounds as Marcus, at 32, continues to date 49-year-old Larsa Pippen. This 16-year age difference brought forth a lot of media backlash. 

The RHOM star Larsa was derided for dating a much younger man. The couple grapples with the age-gap issues in the most recent episode of their podcast, Separation Anxiety.

The couple discusses the double standards concerned with significant age gaps in relationships at length. During the second episode of their co-hosted podcast, Marcus poses a question for Larsa. “You know men like Robert De Niro and Al Pacino are having kids in their 80s, so what do you think? Is that too far? Do you not care? What’s your opinion?” Marcus succinctly points out how older men in new relationships are never judged so harshly. But when the tables are turned, it becomes a problem. 

Actors like Robert De Niro and Al Pacino have the privilege of thinking about having kids in their 80s. De Niro, at 79, celebrates the birth of his 7th child, while 83-year-old Al Pacino plans to have a baby with her significantly junior partner. Larsa Pippen, on the other hand, is trolled for dating a 16-year older Marcus. This double standard clearly affects Marcus Jordan.

Larsa Pippen’s fitting reply

But Larsa may be more liberal than expected. While she acknowledges the double standards around age gaps, she is not too quick to judge men who find love or have kids later in their life.

She is all in favor of older men having kids, as long as their younger partner comprehends that, “…it’s gonna be their responsibility…these guys are just going to be their financial support… I don’t know how much energy you have at 80 to run around a 2-year-old.”

That being said, Larsa is definitely “not hating on it” – she feels that “if they’re happy and if they have the means to take care of these children, then why not?” Larsa Pippen already has four kids with Scottie Pippen and is open to having one more with Marcus. Partly, her support for older men having kids stems from her own desire to have more kids, even in her late forties.
