LeBron James, 37 has been averaging 29 points, 6 assists, and 8 rebounds a game in the 2021-22 season. When it comes to LeBron’s legacy, fans may question it, as the Lakers are struggling to hang in the 9th or the 10th seed.

At the age of 37, LeBron has shown his longevity as he continues to put up amazing performances every other night. Quite recently, he scored 50 points versus the Wizards on March 11th.

Where does LeBron’s legacy stand when compared to Kobe and MJ?
Jay Williams says that losing games would not affect LeBron James‘ legacy. “I don’t think it affects LeBron’s legacy, I mean the fact that he’s dropping 50 plus point games at the age of 37 years old to keep his team in a 9th or 10th seed position for a play-in-tournament…” said Jay.

LeBron has been doing his best to keep the Lakers in a play-in-tournament position. When compared to Jordan’s 2 seasons with the Wizards and Kobe’s last few seasons after his Achilles injury, LeBron is probably better than both the Hall of Famers in this scenario.

Jay Williams points out people who question LeBron’s legacy, saying “… how’s LeBron ending his career? Like… he’s having losing seasons and AD’s hurt and he gets hurt and another injury this year. Like, is this the way we’re gonna remember his legacy, and I’m like, don’t do that.”

LeBron is in MVP mode at the age of 37
Playing at this age tests athlete’s longevity. Michael Jordan at 37-40, averaged 21 points, 4 assists, and 6 rebounds in his time with the Wizards. Whereas Kobe Bryant put up an average of 20 points, 4 assists, and 4 rebounds in his last couple seasons.

Both the players put up decent numbers at the end of their careers. Though LeBron’s current performance is different. Even at this age, King James is in MVP conversations. Even though his teammates are not contributing as much, LeBron is determined to not let any of his efforts go to waste.
It will be interesting to see how the 4-time champion moves forward from this season.
