Michael Jordan and Tiger Woods are two of the most successful athletes ever. Michael Jordan is arguably the greatest basketball player of all time. On the other hand, not many people would mention someone other than Tiger Woods when the question about the greatest golfer ever arises. Jordan retired from the sport in 2003. Conversely, his good friend Tiger Woods came out of retirement earlier this year after an absence of just over a year.
At 59, Michael is the richest athlete ever. Whereas at 46, Tiger stands 5th in the list of the richest athletes in the world. Their fame, success, and their net worth have made them extremely influential and impactful among the people. People absolutely love them. They have been over the years, both in their playing time and off of it. However, there’s a narrative that conveys another reason why the majority of people love and admire the two legends.
The most beloved athletes are not political woke activists:
Herschel Walker
Tiger Woods
Jimmie Johnson
Mario Andretti
Michael Jordan
Tim Tebow
Tom Brady
Peyton Manning
Mike Ditka
Tony Dungy
Curt SchillingThey're proud ambassadors for their sports and not political parties.

Nick Adams, who was once highly praised by Donald Trump, jotted down a list of athletes who are beloved ‘because’ they are not politically woke activists. He included many others among the likes of Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods, and Tom Brady. Donald Trump once praised Nick Adams for his book ‘Green Card Warrior’ on Twitter. The former President wrote, “Nick Adams new book, Green Card Warrior, is a must read. The merit-based system is the way to go. Canada, Australia!”

Nick mentioned how these guys are the true ambassadors of their respective sports. He conveyed how no one is all hands down in favor of or a representative of a particular political party. Nick Adams conveyed that this is why they are most beloved. Their political unbiasedness and pure love for sports are for the people to enjoy and cherish. Especially MJ and Woods, being one of the greatest athletes on the list along with Tom Brady.
Michael Jordan and Tiger Woods’ political affiliation
Ever since Jordan’s debut in 1984 and his rise to stardom, Jordan never got into politics. Neither was he interested nor did he make an effort for it. He was a basketball player, an athlete. He wanted to master his craft. Jordan once made a joke on the team bus. He said, “Republicans buy sneakers, too” and he was entirely unapologetic about it. “I never thought of myself as an activist, I thought of myself as a basketball player”. Jordan said. “I wasn’t a politician. I was playing my sport. Was that selfish? Probably. But that was my energy.”
On the other hand, Tiger Woods has had a similar approach. People have often wondered about his political leanings, but he has done his best to avoid talking about politics. Tiger Woods does have a friend in Donald Trump but they have been friends long before Trump ran for the presidency. They have had lunches together and have played golf too.

In an interview, reporters once asked about his friend Trump’s decisions on a particular matter. To which Tiger Woods responded in a minimal fashion and said that everyone should respect whoever is in the office.

Not just Trump, Tiger has also played golf with Barack Obama, another US president, for whom he only had words of utmost appreciation. He called it “an absolutely incredible” moment when Obama became the president.

Speaking of relations with former US presidents, Jordan also has a very fun relationship with Barack Obama. In 2016, MJ received the Presidential Medal of Freedom from Barack Obama. Obama’s introductory speech for Michael and then the hilarious moment between the two proved that the two American icons are on the best of terms.

So despite affiliations and off-the-scene friendships with former presidents, both Michael Jordan and Tiger Woods have just stayed away from politics. They have been like that over the years. And if we believe Nick Adams, their “unbiased” viewpoint has contributed to their swelling fan bases.
