The beef between Michael Jordan and Isiah Thomas was highly publicized back in the early 90s. The two never got along well off-court or on-court. Moreover, their rivalry made every face-off between the Chicago Bulls and the Detroit Pistons more than just a game. The Pistons were known to come up with the ‘Jordan Rules’ to beat the Bulls and specifically, Jordan.

Evidently, the tactic did help the Pistons but only for two championships, after which the Bulls went on to become the top team in the 90s. When the Bulls beat the Pistons, the rift between Thomas and Jordan became worse and seems to be the same still to date.

Charles Oakley shuts Isiah Thomas for calling out Michael Jordan

According to Eurohoops, Isiah Thomas was upset with the way the docuseries portrayed him. Apparently, Thomas was watching Michael Jordan’s?’The Last Dance’?docu-series along with his family. While the first few minutes seemingly went well, Jordan’s comments on Thomas shocked the latter.

“And then this guy comes on television and he says that he hates me and then he calls me an a**hole. And then I proceed to watch a whole documentary about him being an a**hole,” said Thomas.

Additionally, Thomas said that his beef with MJ would go on until he receives a public apology from the Chicago Bulls legend. While MJ has remained quiet on the matter, it was Charles Oakley who spoke in his defense.

“Mike does not want to be your friend, Isiah,” said Oakley on the ‘All the Smoke’ podcast while discussing the ‘The Last Dance’ and the rivalry between the two.

Furthermore, he added that Thomas was not better than MJ. According to Oakley, Thomas was “mad” at Jordan for taking over his city, i.e. Chicago.
