The Chinese company lawsuit case is the perfect example of Jordan showing how much power his name holds. According to reports, Jordan and his team filed 80 lawsuits against a Chinese company using MJ’s name.
A Chinese sportswear and shoe manufacturer, Qiaodan, paid $46,000 after a court found them guilty of using his name. For the uninitiated, the name ‘Qiaodan’ translates to Jordan in Chinese. Furthermore, the addition of $7,600 in legal expenses means the total sum amounts to $53,600.

Considering Michael Jordan’s massive net worth, this sum amounts to almost nothing. He has a whopping net worth of around $1.7 Billion according to Forbes.
Interestingly enough, he earned only around $90 million in salary! However, his marketability ensured he received brand deals that made him a Billionaire. It is not only the Jordan brand that brings in most of his income. Jordan is the majority owner of the Charlotte Hornets and is also the owner of a NASCAR team.
