Michael Jordan recently shocked the NBA world when he decided to sell most of his stake at the Charlotte Hornets reportedly for $3 billion. The six-time NBA champion, however, plans to keep a minority stake and maintain a presence in the team. This comes after Jordan’s 13 unsuccessful years at the helm. Even some of the biggest fans of MJ would agree that the Hall of Famer has made some poor decisions as an owner over the years. But is he going to make another bad choice with their #2 pick?

Even though Jordan will be a minority stakeholder in the team, his current responsibilities will reportedly fall to Gabe Plotkin and Rick Schnall gradually. However, he is all set to make one major decision before the sale is finalized.

Who is Michael Jordan going to pick?

The Charlotte Hornets were one of the worst teams in the league last year. In the draft lottery, the Hornets won the second pick for the 2023 draft. Even though they missed out on the #1 pick and missed the opportunity to get Victor Wembanyama, the #2 pick could majorly help improve the team if everything works out. Michael Jordan has been criticized a lot over the years for the team’s choices in the draft.

With the second pick this year, MJ has one final shot at making things right before giving away his responsibilities. According to a report from Yahoo Sports a few days ago, “The full expectation is for Jordan to be in on who the team will select with the second pick in this week?s draft, which is why he would like to have a sit-down with?Scoot Henderson and Brandon Miller?to ensure the Hornets select the right player.”

Furthermore, since the Hornets have LaMelo Ball as their star point guard, they are not looking to pick another PG in Henderson. So, it looks like MJ and the Hornets have made up their minds to select Miller as the second pick.

Fans are still not impressed

Brandon Miller is one of the biggest prospects in the draft this year. He was the main man for the Alabama Crimson Tide during the 2022-23 season. However, the murder controversy that surrounded him and the team was a huge blow. As the Hornets’ possible plan about drafting Miller went viral, a lot of fans called out Michael Jordan for not looking to pick Scoot Henderson. Here are some reactions:
