Michael Jordan is arguably the most ferocious basketball player ever. The stories of his competitive nature are countless. Michael Jordan’s killer mentality was not restricted to basketball alone. He was the same ruthless competitor in his favorite past-time sport of golf as well. It is said that Jordan once played golf with then United States President Bill Clinton, and did not go easy on the most powerful man in America.

Surprisingly, he would constantly indulge in trash talks with the President and goad him.?Jordan also said that he wouldn’t take up the opportunity to play with former President Barack Obama. Moreover, he went on to trash Obama’s golf skillset, making him the second president to be the victim of Jordan’s bashful banter.

Michael Jordan goes toe to toe with the President of the United States

When Michael Jordan was asked if he would play a friendly game of golf with Obama, he straight up refused! The NBA legend bashed Barack Obama?s golfing skills by calling him a “hack” during an interview with sportscaster Ahmad Rashad covered by For The Win.

Jordan said,??I never played with Obama, but I would. But naw, that’s ok, I take him out, he?s a hack.”

When Ahmad asked Jordan if wished to speak about the President like that, Jordan defended Obama as a politician but said he was not too impressed with the his golf skills. He clarified that he wouldn’t want to play with Obama as he is not a good player.

Jordan said, ?I never said he wasn?t a great politician, I just said he was a sh**ty golfer.?

Now former President Obama did not let MJ slip away without sharing a few words of his own. Obama was quick to clap back at the Chicago Bulls legend with repartee of his own.

He also took another zinger at MJ by getting the last jab in the banter.?Obama ended the matter by saying, ?He might want to spend more time thinking about the Hornets.? ?

Is Jordan still Obama’s G.O.A.T?

As much fun as it is to see the former POTUS and the G.O.A.T take jabs at each other, we know it is all banter. Jordan is still Obama’s favourite player. Obama’s banter with Jordan extends far beyond the golf exchange. Recently, Michael Jordan received the Presidential Medal of Freedom from Obama.

Funnily enough, in Jordan’s NBA championship documentary ‘The Last Dance’,?Obama makes an appearance and is referred to as ‘Former Chicago Resident’. Whether this was deliberate banter is speculative. Regardless, it was quite odd to refer to POTUS Barack Obama as a mere Chicago resident!
