Competitiveness is part of all sports on the planets. However, certain individuals take it to a whole new level. Notably, NBA Hall of Famer Michael Jordan was extremely competitive. He constantly tried to fuel himself and did everything to gain the upper hand. It went to a point where Jordan didn’t hold back, even against a reporter.

During MJ’s first retirement, he decided to switch sports and pursue his childhood love for baseball. Jordan took part in MLB’s Arizona Fall League. Playing for the Scottsdale Scorpions, the team organized for a basketball game. This is where reporter Steve Gilbert showed up to have a crack at Michael. While he was away from NBA, Jordan never lost his groove.

Michael Jordan tires reporter and sends him to hospital

With Scottsdale Scorpions organizing a basketball game, most would think it would be a fun contest. However, for Mike it is the time to showcase his talent. There was no way he would take a loss, no matter what the circumstances are. Hence, he came into play. And Gilbert came checked in out of shape. And this came to bite him right back.

Jordan tired Gilbert out to such a degree that he had to be hospitalized that day. Jordan left the reporter out of breath on the court and that was the last time he would share the court with him. After that, Jordan specifically told him that he can no longer play basketball with them.

Jordan said: “Listen, you can’t play basketball with us ever again, because I can’t have a good time if I’m worrying about you keeling over and dying.”

This is just a classic MJ story where he would do anything to win. For MJ, winning is the ultimate goal no matter who the opponent maybe. Even at Chris Paul’s camp, CP3 put him up to the test. He challenged Jordan to make shots and if he misses all kids would get shoes. Jordan, being himself, he went on a tear and made every shot. Paul even tried to distract him with a hand in his face, but it came to no avail.
