When someone thinks about Michael Jordan, the first thing that comes to mind is his winning attitude. MJ was known for going to any extent to win and he was sometimes harsh on his teammates in order to bring out the best in them. Moreover, many expected him to be a strict father as well.

Talking in an interview, Michael’s 3 kids, Jeffrey, Marcus, and Jasmine, talked about growing up under the NBA legend. Marcus talked about how their mother, Juanita Vanoy, was strict with them.

This was done so that they have a normal upbringing. Furthermore, Marcus revealed why Jordan is not on any social media. The reason being? MJ is always focused and he will never enjoy social media.

Marcus said, “I think honestly, he wouldn’t even enjoy social media just because he is so laser-focused on his craft. Obviously, that rubbed off on us. My mom, you know, she didn’t really let us spend the night out often while we were growing up. She really wanted to shelter and protect us so that we can kinda have somewhat of a normal upbringing.“

While Marcus revealed that he grew up in a strict household, he once talked about how Michael was always supportive of his kids. No matter what they wanted to pursue in life, Jordan made sure to put his love and belief in his kids.

Michael Jordan was a supportive father
While Michael Jordan was an upright leader in the Chicago Bulls dressing room, he was a different man at home. Marcus and Jeffrey, Jordan’s two sons, tried their hands at basketball. However, unlike their father, they failed to be successful in that field.

Interestingly enough, it seems Jordan did not put any excessive pressure on his kids. He said, “I want him to be his own person, you know? I want him to enjoy his life, whatever he chooses to be that, you know?
