Michael Jordan, Who Lost $168 Million to Ex-Wife Juanita Vanoy, Seen With Her and Daughter in Rare but Iconic Resurfaced Photo

NBA all-time great Michael Jordan first met Juanita Vanoy in 1984. The couple dated each other for a while and then married in 1989. They had three children named Jeffrey and Marcus, and Jasmine Jordan. But the marriage was rocky from the beginning. Then in 2002, Vanoy filed for divorce from Michael Jordan citing irreconcilable differences but she withdrew. However, she then filed for divorce again and was officially divorced in 2006.
According to Chicago Business, Juanita Vanoy received a divorce settlement of $168 million which is one of the largest in sports history. The Bulls legend then married his longtime girlfriend, model Yvette Prieto in 2013.

Recently, an iconic photo of Michael Jordan with his mother, ex-wife Vanoy, and children taken in the United Center has resurfaced.

After winning three straight NBA championships with the Bulls, Jordan decided to take a break from basketball. He cited a lack of motivation to play the game as a reason. It was after the horrific killing of his father James Jordan Sr. And he decided to try his hands at baseball. However, it was not as successful as he would have hoped.

After one and a half years away from basketball, MJ decided to come back to the league. The Bulls were struggling without their superstar and leader. And his announcement to come back brought excitement back to the franchise. His presence gave immediate success to the team. But he was not wearing the iconic #23. Instead, he chose to wear #45 which he used to wear during his high school days. It was also because of his father’s absence. MJ felt that it was a new beginning since he would be playing without his father.

Michael Jordan continued to wear #45 during the regular season and the first playoffs series against the Indiana Pacers. Then the Bulls faced Orlando Magic in the playoffs. And after some trash talking from the Magic players, Jordan went back to his #23. But the Bulls lost the series 4-2 that year.
However, this loss made Jordan come back stronger than before. And in the next year, MJ and the Bulls would have their revenge over the Magic. And won the title that year. The Bulls then continued their domination and won three straight titles.
