NBA legend Michael Jordan is one of the richest athletes in sports history. He earned millions in salaries during his NBA career and his shoe deal has made him a billionaire. And he also owns some ridiculously expensive things. None of them might be more absurd than the one where he spent over $550,000 just to satisfy his addiction.

Jordan is a cigar lover since his playing days. Every time you see Jordan out partying or celebrating, it was usual to see a cigar in his mouth. It became so addictive to Jordan that he used to smoke a cigar before every game. And he has spent an insane amount of money on cigars throughout his life.

Michael Jordan has spent over half a million dollars on cigars since 2003

In 2017, Michael Jordan did an interview with a cigar aficionado. He talked about his love for cigars and how addictive they are to him. He also said that since retiring, he smokes six cigars a day. And the brand of cigars that Jordan smokes cost around $14-$24 per cigar. And keeping with that estimate, Jordan has smoked nearly $550,000-$940,00 worth of cigars.

It’s common for a billionaire with all the time, money, and fame, to pick up a few vices here and there. And Jordan did that by going deep into gambling and smoking high-quality cigars.

During his latter years, it was almost rare to spot Jordan without a cigar. That addiction become so common that Jordan used to keep cigars in his mouth just for the feel of it. And he even infamously smoked cigars before home games, to be prepared for what is to come.

Jordan came into the league as a young player and he arguably transformed it like no one had before him. He was a six-time NBA champion with the Chicago Bulls and a six-time Finals MVP. He was almost single-handedly responsible for making the game global.
