The Atlanta Hawks pulled themselves one step closer to getting into the NBA playoffs. In a win-or-go-home game, The Hawks dominated against the Charlotte Hornets to eliminate them. The Michael Jordan team couldn’t find their groove as they were blown away by 29 points. Likewise, NBA Twitter did not hold back as they ripped into the Hornets for their blowout loss.

Throughout his NBA career, Michael Jordan made a living by being a winner. Going a perfect 6 for 6 in his finals runs, MJ did not face many defeats on the big stage. However, when it comes to his career as an owner, things seem to be falling apart. The Hornets let go of their chance to get into the playoffs for the second consecutive year as they couldn’t Trae Young and his forces.

Hornets fail to win like owner Michael Jordan

Going up against the Hawks, the Hornets’ offense completely fell apart. They couldn’t find any momentum as the team shot just 37.8% for the night. With the 29 point loss to the Hawks, the Hornets’ season came to an end. However, fans are not letting them off easy as they took to Twitter to react to the blowout loss.

The fans trolled the Charlotte by saying how Michael Jordan would be very upset with his own franchise. But when it came to the game, the Hawks were on their best right from the starting whistle.

Unsurprisingly, Trae Young was the main man for the Hawks on the big stage. He compiled 24 points, 3 rebounds and 11 assists to lead the Hawks past Charlotte. De’Andre Hunter came up big as well, posting 22 points and 7 rebounds. Center Clint Capela has a massive night as well. He put up 15 points and 17 rebounds to go with 2 steals and 3 blocks. The Hawks will not face off against the Cleveland Cavaliers to determine the 8th seed.

The Hornets had no answer to Young’s astonishing playmaking for the night. LaMelo Ball scored a team-high 24 points while dishing out 8 assists for the Hornets. But like most of the Charlotte players, Ball had a rough night shooting just 28%. Terry Rozier added 21 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists but had a massive 5 turnovers for the game as well. PJ Washington had a great night scoring 17 points on 70% shooting.
