The Atlanta Hawks and Miami Heat battled it out on Tuesday to get the NBA postseason underway. Trae Young and Co. came out victorious and are all set to take on the Boston Celtics in round 1. However, things went downhill for NBA legend Charles Barkley when he failed miserably in a Billion dollar bet to Shaquille O’Neal on Live TV. After the humiliation, Shaq even rubbed it in Chuck’s face with a hilarious gesture.

Barkley has a poor track record when it comes to predicting the outcomes of games. Recently, he picked the eventual losers to win during the Super Bowl and March Madness. To add to his embarrassment, he chose the Heat to win in the first game of the Play-in tournament.

Shaquille O’Neal and Charles Barkley were back at it again

In the pre-game analysis of the first play-in game, the Inside the NBA crew debated on the outcome of the matchup. Charles Barkley confidently picked the Heat and said, “They’re [The Heat] gonna beat the Hawks. Come on, Hawks stink.” The conversation didn’t end there as Shaq asked Chuck to bet it. He immediately responded, leaving the crew in surprise. Chuck replied, “Whatever you want to, a Billion dollars.

However, the result didn’t go in Chuck’s favor as Atlanta registered a comfortable 116-105 victory on Tuesday night.

Moreover, after the game, Big Diesel’s hilarious gesture left Barkley with a red face. Shaq looked at Barkley and imitated the words, “One Billion dollars,” in a wickedly hilarious way. 

The Hawks star Trae Young addressed the media after the game and credited his teammates for stepping up in the much-needed situations. He said, “I credit our guys for being ready… focused on the game plan and understanding where people thought we could be… we took that motivation and went out and handled business.” 

The Hawks have their upcoming challenge against the second seed of the Eastern Conference, the Boston Celtics

Hawks cross the finish line comfortably

The Hawks handled the playoff pressure better than the Heat on Tuesday night. The team maintained the lead throughout the game and didn’t let the Heat break in the defense. Trae Young dropped 25 points and Dejounte Murray supported him with 18 points to take the side past the finish line.
