Kevin Durant shook up the NBA with his request to move away from the Brooklyn Nets. The Nets forward is undoubtedly one of the most lethal scorers of a basketball. Not all teams could get lucky. However, some had an undue advantage. As the news broke out, the Slim Reaper had two teams on his wish list. The Phoenix Suns and the Miami Heat were reportedly on his radar.

The Heat have become one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference. Making the NBA Finals in 2020, their depth of talent has played out exceptionally. However, despite an explosion by Jimmy Butler, the number one seed was eliminated from the Conference Finals last season. Needing to make the final push, the news about Kevin Durant got the Heat’s head turning.

However, one of their young superstars believes Vice City doesn’t need a change. Sitting down with Jake Paul, Tyler Herro spoke about his confidence in Miami’s current roster.

Tyler Herro doesn’t want Kevin Durant

Out of all the Miami Heat players, Herro stood out the most. Competing to be the Sixth Man of The Year, Herro’s offense looked refined. Putting up nearly 21 points per night, he was a crucial part of the Heat’s successful regular season. A fearless young talent, Herro looks set to make a huge leap in the coming season.

But with the recent conversations for a potential trade for KD or Donovan Mitchell, his future in Miami is hanging. Both names are among the best offensive players in the NBA right now. However, Herro believes the Heat doesn’t need them. Speaking to Jake Paul, the 22-year-old thinks the Heat are on right the track to glory.

He said: “I would run it back. I think that’s what we’re doing. We brought everyone back and we were one game away from the finals. So I would run it back.”

While the Brooklyn Nets‘ unreal price tag makes Kevin Durant almost unattainable, the Heat have made a heavy run for Utah Jazz star Donovan Mitchell. Moreover, fitting to the high-paced offense, Mitchell would arguably be the perfect counterpart for Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo. Spida is just 25 years old and has already made a noise in the playoffs.

After falling short in the Conference Finals to a tough Boston Celtics defense last time around, a skilled player like Mitchell could be the difference maker. With an ability to break down defenses, he would add a scoring dynamic to the team. However, with that said, the three-time champions would likely have to say goodbye to much of their core.

A decision that could potentially alter their entire franchise, the Miami Heat has a lot of thinking too. Do you think Tyler Herro is right or should the Heat make a move for Kevin Durant or Donovan Mitchell? Let us know your views in the comments below.
