NBA Legend Shaquille O’Neal is an ambassador of the $2.43 Billion worth company, Papa John’s. Shaq has a net worth of over $450 million and owns more than 200 stores. However, he had one condition before he joined the company to make history with them.
Back in 2019, Shaq joined Papa John as a member of the board of directors. And he also invested in nine outlets in Atlanta. But when he joined Papa John’s, the company was in a tight spot. Their founder and the public face of the company, John Schnatter had surrounded himself in a bunch of controversies, which posed several PR problems for the company.

“I’m just the first and only African American member on the board,” he added.
Shaquille O’Neal wanted to make sure the founder got punished, and he did not want to be associated with a brand whose leader was so controversial. So Shaq only signed with them when the founder resigned. And he made history by being the only African-American member on the company’s board.
