NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal is a man of many talents and music is one of them. The former MVP is a popular DJ who travels around the world for his DJ work. In the recent episode of ‘The Big Podcast with Shaq’, called ‘The Big Face-Off with D-Nice’ there was a special guest. Hosts O’Neal, Nischelle Turner, and Spice Adams welcomed legendary DJ, Derrick “D-Nice” Jones to the show.

During the podcast, Jones along with the crew, discussed various things in the music industry. And Jones also shared how his music career first started when he was just a 15-year-old kid.

While talking, NFL veteran Adams wanted to ask something to Shaq. He asked Shaquille O’Neal how long he can DJ and what his limit is. The Big Diesel said that the music he plays as a DJ is high intensity. So the fans might go jumping up and down for an hour straight for his music.

Then Adams said that a DJ once tried to go 24 hours straight and it was the funniest thing he had ever seen. So Shaquille O’Neal revealed what is the funniest thing he’s seen while on DJ duty.

Shaquille O’Neal is jealous of D-Nice

The NBA champion revealed that Jones would make him and other DJs jealous. Shaq said, “No the funniest thing to me was when he got on, all the other DJs including myself would get jealous. And we would be like, ‘Okay, D-Nice ain’t on, let me go on!’ One time I went on and I didn’t check the time. I had like a thousand people, I thought I was doing something. Then my numbers just started dropping. And then I ready to come in, ‘D-Nice is on, we love you Shaq! But D-Nice is on!'”

And the Los Angeles Lakers legend said that his numbers dropped from 1000 to almost 20. Hearing this, the whole crew couldn’t control their laughter. Even DJ Jones couldn’t sit on his chair properly with all the laughing. Interestingly, former president Barack Obama is a huge fan of Derrick “D-Nice” Jones. And Obama himself has requested the DJ to spin on multiple occasions.

The legendary DJ started his career as a 15-year-old in the Bronx. He was one of the earliest members of the 80s rap group Boogie Down Productions. By 1990, he had a Billboard number one single off his self-produced debut album ‘Call Me D-Nice’.
